Lady Bug Bell

Ring Ring! Look out - coming through!
I have visions of Holly and I happily cruising along the bikeways this summer.
The Sunday pedestrians can be a worry though - lucky we have a bell on our bike - but not one quite this cool!

Selected as a Swedish Design Classic by the Swedish National Museum, this PlaySam push car gets my vote for possibly the most stylish ride-on toy ever!
Only $73 from Kidostore.

Summer is still going strong - in between all the rainy days - so we are still needing lots of towels to dry off after all our swims.
This Cuddlefish Pool Poncho is practical and cute. Available from Cuddlefish direct.

It was only going to be a matter of time...she heard a Wiggles at a recent kids session and she was hooked!
It's amazing - we've bought a few of their DVDs and she is mesmerized every time we put one on. Luckily, her trance breaks at around the 15 minute mark at this stage.....and that's right when our tolerance runs out. So, it's a harmonious, symbiotic relationship and a great novelty at this stage, as we find her reactions to the DVDs more entertaining than the songs themselves!
It is now only a matter of time, and we will be front row at the concert singing every word and dancing our hearts out. I actually think the dance moves are fantastic.......much needed in this age of childhood obesity.
Wiggles DVDs can be found everywhere. Try Myer, KMart or BigW during the sales for a good deal.

I used to love these when I was a kid. Great to see Oobi have brought them back....
The Oobi 70s Space Hopper can be found at The Kids Store.

As featured on Sunrise today, Lawrie Laurence is realeasing a series of online swim lessons for littlies - making it easy to teach your kids the basics in your home pool. It is called Kids Alive.
The FREE lessons go online Monday. More details on the site.

Holly's about to outgrow her old swim nappy and we are constantly in the pool, so we'll probably need a few spares. These Mother Ease Swim Nappies should do the job.
You have to love a product that describes one of its features as: "our exclusive elasticised poo-catcher net keeps accidents contained for immediate clean up."
These can be purchased from Mum's Little Outlet

A few Mums have mentioned to me that they have already done the Xmas shopping. YIKES!
I've started to have a look, but have not made any purchases as yet.
This ride-on mouse by Wheely Bug is currently top of my list. Available from honeybee toys.
The Qld Government Child Health website features a stack of handy fact sheets, covering all aspects of children's development.
We'll keep them here as a handy reference.

We are starting to accumulate a collection of toys, and Holly has not even had her first birthday. One of my new projects will be finding cool storage ideas.
This Minnen Drake wall pocket from Ikea doubles as a cute dragon wall hanger and is easy to clean.
It also assist with aim and coordination as the kids get older - as they can try to throw their toys into the pockets. That should make one less job for Mum!

Holly is nowhere near being able to ride a bike yet, but I can always look! She'd look so tough on this ride.
Early Riders are designed with no pedals, to be pushed along using the feet, so the child learns to balance quicker than if they had training wheels. That's the theory anyway. This bike looks like so much fun - they'd be riding in no time!
Kidostore in Sydney stock these.
My name is Katie Mackenzie. I have a gorgeous baby girl, and a husband who shares my appreciation for design. We hope to bring Holly up in a place that is full of fun, style and function. We have no room for clutter. And we are limited to products that are available to Australians. This blog summarises our efforts.
